We Are In For "Interesting Times."

Why do highly educated urban professional types call for more regulation of our financial and manufacturing industries as well as every other aspect of our lives? Because they know that they will get to be the ones that write and enforce the regulations for their
benefit while the rest of us get to pay for it. They have a very arrogant and elitist view of the world...a world in which they are global citizens, and the world's ruling class. In their eyes, they are God.

There is a big picture here. The big picture is that it's a cultural thing that has been ongoing for several generations. The late Paul Weyrich summed it up when he wrote that conservatives won the political war, but liberals won the cultural war and that culture trumps politics. I would like to add that once culture trumps politics, culture will then
define and control politics. This last election is proof of that. I would also like to add that I believe that those that won the cultural war, allowed conservatives to win the political war, so that there would be a false sense of security while the real agenda was being pushed behind the scene. We are now in the final stages of the master plan of the Fabians,
the Wobblies, and the Cultural Marxists of the Frankfurt School. They have managed over a one hundred year period to subvert and change American culture to a culture of envy, control, and entitlement managed by laissez faire meritocratic, super educated, Narcissistic elites; New York Times editorialist David Brooks wrote a book about them called Bobos In Paradise. Bobos are what are known as Bourgeois Bohemians. They have managed to fuse 1980s Yuppie Capitalism with the 1960s Counter Culture, and become at the least, very comfortable financially, while they alleviate their guilt by believing in and supporting the "right" causes. Consequently, they get to have it all at the rest of our expense. They are now about to change America for their benefit and the "little people" are going to pay for it. Welcome to a dictatorship of the intellectual
classes. As Marie Antionette supposedly said, "Let them eat cake."

Do you like your house? Do you like where you live? How are liberal elites changing that? Let's start with "Sustainable Development. How dare the average middle class person without a college degree think they are entitled to own a home, especially a single family home in the suburbs. Let's change things by passing zoning ordinances that require that all new homes be built on at least an acre or more of land in order to prevent urban sprawl. That's why you have McMansions. When was the last time you saw a developer building a nice 1200 square foot home on a half or quarter acre like they did during the 1950s? During that time middle class America migrated from the cities to the suburbs, so that they could own a home with a yard, and the housing industry accommodated them. It was the post World War II era of comfortable prosperity personified by the calm stewardship of the Eisenhower Administration. The idea here
is for the liberal elites to undo, or deconstruct if you will, the ingrained middle class culture of the 1950s. Only high dollar urbanist liberal professional types are to own property. The rest of us need to be forced into human habitat areas that will consist of middle class housing projects with very little places to park. The committee will decide how much living space you need, and you will be assigned housing accordingly. Of course the projects will be right next to public transportation. Driving is only for me not thee. Can't you see the Prius parked in the driveway of my McMansion (the SUV is "hidden" in the garage)? I'm important so I get to drive. You aren't so you don't. That way I won't have to worry about traffic jams either. You can shut up and take the bus

Speaking of cars, don't you know what we need are more high priced hybrids so that the average person can not afford a car? Not only that, you are a tradesman who needs a van? Fill out this application and explain why you need something besides a roller skate with a lawn mower engine. If the committee approves your request, you will be able
to get your truck. If not, get a job doing something else. The committee
will arrange for retraining in exchange for another chunk of your soul .

Speaking of jobs, you want to do what for a living? Have society’s managers approved? The committee knows what society needs for workers, and will "guide" you into a job that is what is best for society as a whole, and the hell with what you want. You will
shut up and do as you are told. The elites are now in charge. They are smarter, better educated, and your rulers. Get used to it. This can be done the easy way or the hard way. It's up to you. It's hard to believe that you still have an independent streak after 12 years of public school indoctrination and for some, advanced indoctrination into the collective
mindset facilitated by the higher education "industry."

Of course, this is going to affect your lifestyle. The elitist left thinks that wealth is a zero sum game. If you make a buck, someone else loses a buck. They cry their phony crocodile tears about how awful it is that the poor are poor and deprived, because of Capitalism. For some odd reason they have no problem with Capitalism when it advances
Socialism for their benefit. The gameplan is, they make a buck and we lose a buck. All animals are created equal, but some are created more equal than others. We are about to find out just how much more equal the elites who now control our politics, culture, education, legal profession, and media are. The average American is in for a very rude awakening begining on January 20, 2008

The Election Aftermath

I’m sure there are some people that are licking their wounds after the defeat of John McCain and the victory of Barak Obama in the presidential election. In any contest there is a winner and there is a loser. That’s the way things are. So be it. I did think however, that the electoral vote count was going to be a lot closer. As of today, the electoral vote tally is 349 electors for Obama and 173 electors for McCain. That is a significant margin. What the American people have done here is sent a very strong message to the Republican Party: "No more George Bushes!" I can’t agree more. While I voted for Bush twice, because I felt that he was the lesser of the evils, I didn’t like George Bush. I don’t think that he was an effective president. Many people saw it the same way. It was George Bush that cost the Republicans this election, and Bush knows it. You can see it on his face when he’s been addressing the American people after the election. There is another message that is being sent, and I’m skeptical at best. I see it on some sites, and hear it from the young educated white-collar professionals and semi-professionals that make up a large portion of the upper income bracket of our service economy. They have a collectivist world citizen view rather than an individualist American citizen view and they are elated at having Obama as president. In their opinion, he will make us become citizens of the world who just happen to live in the United States. America is just another cog in the machine. We are the world as the song goes. This is a very strong move toward the one world government that the liberal elites have been plotting for years. This is a consolidation of power into their hands. It’s going to be an interesting ride.

In this election, I voted for McCain. His worldview is more inline with my worldview. I do want to take this time right now, however, to say that I offer my heartiest congratulations to President-elect Barak Obama. I hope for this country’s sake, he has a successful presidency. We need that. Barak Obama is a clean slate as a president right now, and I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Most conservatives that I know are saying the same thing. However, we will be watching and waiting in the wings for the time when it’s our turn again.

I consider myself to be a citizen of the greatest country in the world, The United States of America. I served this great country as a member of the Armed Forces for 26 years. I am not a citizen of the world educated elite. It offends me that I should have to share citizenship with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez and Kim Jong Il. I’m a member of the average white person class that the educated elite holds in contempt and want to control for the "common good." My ideology lies with the "hayseeds" in "fly over country," not with the latte sipping, NPR listening, arrogant elites that now have the mandate to remold society into their world view. With the White House going Democrat, and with Democratic control of both houses of Congress, it’s now the Democrats game to lose. If the economy goes down the toilet in a year, they won’t have anyone to blame but themselves, and the midterm elections in 2010 are only two years away.

Ok, so why does this average non-elite, need to be controlled for my own good, contemptuous white male vote Republican? I am retired military, and having spent 26 years serving this country in the Air Force, I’ve lived through two Democratic and three Republican administrations while I was on active duty. The military always fares better under a Republican administration than it does under a Democrat administration, and people vote for what is in their best interests.

I’m not sure what an Obama Administration will do to the military. No one knows, except for Barak Obama. Based on history, I have a feeling that the active duty force will find themselves getting insufficient pay raises each year, and retirees will find that their pensions will not increase in order to keep up with the cost of living. This is always the case with Democratic administrations. With a Democratic controlled Congress, it would appear to be a gimme. They prefer to spend the money on domestic programs for drug addicted welfare queens and their hordes of illegitimate children, rather than spending money on the good men and women who volunteer to put their lives on the line to keep us safe.

The job of President of the United States is also two jobs. It’s also Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. How Barak Obama will perform as Commander in Chief is also an unknown. One thing for sure is a large percentage of President-elect Obama’s constituencies are anti-war, anti-military types. This is where things are going to get very interesting, and this old sarge is smiling at this possibility. From a revenge point of view, there may be a silver lining in this dark cloud. I am now going to give you one example of my "Audacity of Hope."

Barak Obama has said that he wants s a civilian security force that will equal the US Military. What this really means is anyone’s guess, but I’m more than a little bit skeptical. Woodrow Wilson’s goon squads come to mind. He also wants mandatory service of some kind for everyone between the ages of 18 and 27. This is going to get real interesting.

Ok hippies listen up. You are about to get what you paid for when you bought the "Audacity of Hope" at the ballot box. First of all, whether you like it or not, the world is not a very safe place. There is no such thing as Utopia. Get your Granola fueled heads out of your asses. You are all going to be lining up to get into some sort of peacenik service program like the Peace Corps or some other sundry organization so that you can do pacifist service and meet your mandatory obligation without picking up a rifle. There are only going to be so many slots in those kind of groups. If you are not connected to the right people, you are not going to get in those programs. Therefore, you will either be joining the military, or Obama’s domestic security force. Either way, you are in for a rude awakening. On one hand, you just might find yourselves in Malaria infested parts of Africa as part of UN peace keeping and nation building activities. On the home front, you just might find yourselves being called in to maintain law and order any time there is a "disturbance" like a protest that the Obamamesiah determines is not in his or his administration’s best interest. Again, Woodrow Wilson’s goon squads come to mind. It will be real interesting to see hippies who couldn’t get a slot in a program building Tony Rezko style public housing projects being ordered to beat the shit out of protesting hippies, and if you refuse to beat the hippie, you will be the hippie facing the firing squad. After all, mutiny is mutiny, and mutiny is punishable by death. The "goon squad" will be forced to turn against their friends and brethren in ideology. Remember in the Civil War that it was brother against brother? Hmmm…

That’s the domestic end of it. How about the other side of the coin? What’s going to be real interesting too, is going to be seeing how the patchouli scented unwashed Phish followers, Vagina Monologuers and Deadheads now in the international peace keeping/ nation building forces are going to deal with boot camp. Let me tell you, it’s no fun. I’ve been there. Air Force Basic is considered to be a little less demanding than the other branches of the service, but when I went through back in 1977, it was still very rough. It was much rougher in the years before that. Of course when I went through it, everyone there was there because they were volunteers. Boot Camp is going to be a lot harder when they are training recalcitrant individuals who don’t want to be there in the first place. Let’s face it, you couldn’t get into the Peace Corps, so now you are in the Marine Corps and you are pissed.

What our training instructor told us in Basic was that when you have an all volunteer force, punishment pushups, digging holes with teaspoons, cleaning toilets with toothbrushes, and being set back in training, or even the threat of being set back in training, is usually enough to keep people in line. When you don’t have an all-volunteer force, you sometimes have to resort to physical coercion techniques in order to force compliance to orders and directives when individuals who are there against their will, are not cooperative. I would love to be a fly on the wall when some spoiled anti-military elite, who is stuck doing military service because he just didn’t have the right connections, finds himself being backhanded across the face or slammed against a wall, because he forgot that the first word out of his mouth is "Sir." Another famous boot camp disciplinary tactic is the punish the entire unit when one person screws up. Sometimes they will punish everyone except for the one that messed up. This usually leads to a late night blanket party. One way of doing group punishment is to herd everyone into the shower area and then turn the water on hot and dump a few gallons of ammonia and bleach in there mixed together, and then close the door. The fumes become unbearable after about a minute, and within another minute, everyone is vomiting all over the place. All that mess will now have to be cleaned up afterward too. They will be bringing back what is called, "Motivation," which is a unit where the worst of the uncooperative are sent. If you are sent down to Motivation, you will wish you were condemned to the lowest circle of Hell for all eternity instead of being there.

Ah, the revenge. Just think hippies, you are also going to find yourself living the elites dream of collectivism taken to its fullest extreme. You will find yourselves with shaven heads so you all look the same, in uniform so you all look the same, marching every where you go so you move as a unit rather than as an individual, and you will be subject to mandatory drug testing. You will also be forced to bend to the will of the military elites, not the academic or legal elites that you identify with, who in this situation are the NCOs and officers who are higher up the food chain that you are. You are actually going to get a taste of your own medicine. Gee, that’s going to suck. You are no longer important. You are a nothing. You are no longer special. You are nothing but a worthless piece of shit that hasn’t earned the right to even call yourself a human being. You are actually going to have to do what you are told to do and not question it. Don’t you just love authority especially when you have a problem with authority? I can’t wait to see it happen to the spoiled little adult children who have been brainwashed into the ideology of social justice. Mommy won’t be able to hire a lawyer for you either. You won’t be able to sue the big bad grumpy sergeant, because he kicked you in the ass or pushed you down a flight of stairs. They own you. You’ll just have to put up and shut up just like you want the rest of us to do. Oh and by the way, if you continue to be a real problem child or decide to just up and leave because you don’t like being there, there is always the Uniform Code of Military Justice, a court martial, and a place called Leavenworth.

The very people that venomously screeched about Dick Cheney being able to get a student deferment during Viet Nam, and George Bush supposedly using family connections to get into the Air National Guard are going to find themselves doing military service against their will. Will they be screaming about their fellow liberal brethren getting preferential treatment allowing them to serve in the non-military services? That’s what I call social justice. As the Obama supporters say, "It’s a new beginning."

Tuesday, November 4, 2008 Election

This coming Tuesday, Americans will go to the polls and vote for the next President of the United States. The choices we have are Barak Obama and John McCain. For the record, I’m not crazy about either one of them, but I’m planning on voting for McCain. I consider him to be the lesser of the evils. One of them is pure socialism and the other one is socialism lite. I would love to see less socialism in this country, but ever since the New Deal, we are kind of stuck with some degree of socialism. I just want it to have the smallest footprint possible.

I think that John McCain is going to have a hard time getting elected, but as of today, it’s still a possibility. People are ready for change, and the Republicans have not done a good job running this country for the past eight years. A lot of this has to do with the man in the White House.

I personally believe that George Bush is not an evil person, and the for the past 8 years, his heart has been in the right place. That being said, he has not been a very effective president. The only thing I can say positive about his presidency has been the fact that we have not had a terrorist attack in this country since 9/11. I am not going to discount this, because with the world as it is today, this is a very significant accomplishment. For this I will thank President Bush. There have been many attempts here in this country; most of which are not reported in the press, but so far none of them have succeeded. This is very significant since there have been over 27,000 terrorist attacks of one form or another since 9/11 throughout the world. In case you haven’t noticed, the media hasn’t been too forthcoming about reporting that news either.

Here’s my opinion on why the American people are willing to gamble on an unknown with terrorist, Marxists, and corrupt associates and cronies to be our next president. First of all, the Republican Party leadership along with President Bush have shown the American people that they have absolutely no backbone when it comes to dealing with the Democrats. This has made a large percentage of us Republicans very angry with our party leadership. While I’m not about to jump ship and vote for Obama in order to send a message like some Republicans are going to do, I’m completely disgusted with the leadership of George W. Bush and the Republican leaders in the House and Senate. Because of their collective cowardice and guilt when it comes to standing up to a political party that wants to establish a Socialist government ruled over by the intellectual classes, we will now be looking at the end of America as we know it. This is very sad.

Along with this, Bush and the Republicans have not listened to and have been obtuse as far as listening to the mainstream Americans when it comes to issues such as illegal immigration. Why did we not seal our borders after 9/11 and then start rounding up and deporting as many illegal aliens as we could find? Yes I know the typical Left wing oral diarrhea; "Businesses need cheap labor." Hey Lefties, how about "rich liberals need cheap nannies and gardeners." Oh, don’t forget the illegals voting for Democrats illegally along with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and all those "residents" of Sleepy Hollow Cemetery who will be voting for Obama. Since nothing is being done about it, I guess the Republican leadership is either in the tank with the Democrats, or else they don’t have any balls. I think it’s a little bit of both.

The Republican leadership, including George Bush, have also chosen spending on entitlement programs like Medicare as a measure of success. We are spending way too much money on domestic social programs, and since the 1960s, they haven't succeeded. All they have done is cost a lot of money. These programs continue to be failures and are going to bankrupt us if we don’t start reining them in…the never ending without an "exit strategy" War On Poverty, the Social Security crisis, Medicare, and The No Child Left Behind Act come to mind. You don't keep throwing money at a broken system. You fix the system and then fund it to the point where it works. You don't let it become a financial bottomless pit with no tangible results. Social progams don't work when the only ones that benefit from the progams are the people managing the progams.

Here are other issues: When are we going to finally have an energy policy that will take us into the future? Ethanol is a government grant funded boondoggle for corn farmers and wind and solar will never supply us with all the electricity that we will need. Every time an energy bill came out of the House between 2002 and 2005, when Republicans controlled the House, Northeastern "moderate" Republican Senators saw to it that the energy bills were killed. Why? Along with that, President Bush complained, but never demanded that he be presented with a sound comprehensive energy bill that he could sign into law. I guess there is just too much money to be made in government subsidized "green" investments for rich liberals...and George Bush is nothing but a rich liberal who happens to side with the Religious Right on social issues in order to garner their vote. The rest of us say, "drill, drill, drill..." If we can provide more of our oil ourselves, build a dozen or so more refineries, and through tax incentives to the auto manufactures, "encourage" them to produce vehicles that are more fuel efficient, we can drive through lesser demand, oil prices through the floor. This will through the free market collapse the economies of our enemies like Russia and Venezuela. This will also provide less funding for terrorism coming out of the Muslim countries in the Middle East. Nothing would make my day better than that.

Now let’s look at the other part of the equation…The American people are so softened down at this point thanks to our failed public education system and our guilt ridden embrase of diversity and multi-culturalism, that they are ready and willing to accept the big wet "Depends" of Socialism as the new American way of life. On one side of the coin we have become a nation of lazy underachieving spoiled brats who want everything handed to us on a silver platter. This dumbing down of our nation has been deliberate, and it was slowly put into place over the past 100 years in order to bring to fruition the goals of the Fabian Socialists, the ultimate in self-righteous intellectual Narcissists. They set in motion the plan for a one world socialist government with a class of highly educated elites ruling over the rest of us while the rest of us were brainwashed over the years to be subservient to them. Now let's look at the other side of the coin. Have you ever wondered why there are so many members of the upper middle class who embrace Socialism? It’s because they know that under Socialism they will be the ones that will control the rest of us "for the common good." For them it’s beyond having things handed to them on a silver platter. It’s about power being handed to them on a silver platter. It's about arrogant elitism. They claim that they are "concerned" about the poor and all the other victim groups. Bullshit! Nothing could be further from the truth. Upper middle class liberal elites have nothing but contempt for the less educated who actually get their hands dirty when they work. They feel that these "lesser people" are too stupid to manage their own affairs. How do I know? I work with many of those liberal elites, and they have said so in their own words. They really believe that the "little people" need the "big people" to make their decisions for them for the "common good." We are just too stupid to manage our own affairs. We need to be controlled. The liberal elites are willing to pay a small amount more in their taxes for that privilege.

The international socialists now have all the pieces of the puzzle in place. They have been putting this into place since the 1890s. They are about the close the deal with the election of Barak Obama, the liberal elites facilitator to establish the dictatorship of the ruling intellectual classes.

President Bush and the Republican Leadership, you have no one to blame but yourselves for the possibility of the end of the American way of life. This Tuesday will be an American milestone. Alexander Tyler, the famous Scottish historian stated in the 1700s: All societies go though the following progression, and have since the establishment of formal governments. First there is bondage, then there is enlightenment. This is followed by courage, which is followed by liberty. Following that there is prosperity followed by complacency. After that you have apathy which leads back into bondage. Think about that this Tuesday when you go to the polls. Are we so cynical and apathetic that we are ready to vote ourselves into the possibility of Marxist bondage? The stained glass door to the Fabian Society in London, England shows the earth on an anvil being struck by hammers. Above that in a smaller panel is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Think about it.

It's time to take the gloves off

On Flag Day, June 14th, an American Legion post in Maryland was doing a fundraiser to raise money for "care packages" for our troops stationed overseas—a very worthwhile cause. I have personal experience with the military. I served in the Air Force for 26 years, retiring at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant (E-8). Even though all my permanent assignments were here in the States, I did a fair amount of overseas travel on temporary duty assignments (TDYs). From having interacted with many fine American men and women stationed overseas, letters from school children, caring families and from letter writing drives for service personnel overseas from civic organizations are always welcome. Even more so, "care packages" from their home or from any organization here in the States are welcome with open arms and tears in their eyes. This is especially true with our troops stationed in areas of conflict like the Middle East. At this event, one of the bands that I play with was performing as part of the fundraiser. We offered our services to this Legion post free of charge.

A very fine singer joined us for this gig. Beforehand she send out a mass email to promote the gig and the fundraiser cause. One email she received back, and I don’t know or care who it was from, stated that they couldn’t attend an activity supporting the troops, because they had to make a statement against George Bush, the war, and against John McCain as a presidential candidate. This person then mentioned, of course the quote out of context of McCain’s statement about being in Iraq for 100 years. It’s amazing how the useful idiots on the Left only take part of his statement out of context. They never mention the rest of what he said, when he said that he would be in favor of it as long as no Americans were getting in harms way. What McCain was eluding to was the fact that we’ve had troops stationed all over the world maintaining world peace as best we can. It’s not always successful, but if we weren’t, things would be a hell of a lot worse. We have had troops stationed in Europe for over 60 years. We’ve had troops stationed in Japan for over 60 years. We’ve had troops stationed in Korea since the 1950s. We had troops in the Philippines for over 90 years, until Mt. Pinutubo erupted and destroyed our bases. Those bases had been there since the Spanish American war, and were vital to our success in World War II.

Ok fair enough. This person decided to make a statement rather than just saying nothing. Then again, infantilism is infantilism, and that disease seems to perpetrate the thought process of the left. By making a statement this individual has opened the door to me making a statement about him or her. Fasten your seatbelts. The "Old Sarge" is about to "make a statement."

I’d like to say this to that individual who decided to show their ignorance by making that statement. I don’t know who you are, nor do I care. Therefore, I will refer to you as YOU. First of all, I would like to contrast that singer friend of mine with YOU. My friend is against the war, but she gave of her time and gave a nice financial contribution to the cause, and I’m sure that she makes a lot less money than YOU do. Unlike YOU, she doesn’t hate this country, not that YOU would care. Hating America is fashionable among the Marxist useful idiots and fellow travelers that YOU and your ilk associate with. Oh wait a minute, I think YOU call YOUrselves "Progressives." YOU are not Progressives, YOU are assholes. It doesn’t matter to YOU anyway. In YOUr adult child mind the whole world revolves around YOUr asshole, which of course, doesn’t stink. Everyone else’s asshole stinks. YOURs is too pure and self-righteous to stink. I guess only an asshole can pretend that their asshole doesn’t stink. Gee, that sounds like logic.

I am speculating here, but I’m going to assume for a minute that YOU are either in the legal or academic profession, or else YOU have close ties to either. That would explain a lot. Communism is a dictatorship of the intellectual classes. Are YOU a Coercive Utopian driven by the desire for a Communist America where YOU will be a member of the ruling class? Am I supposed to be one of the slaves on YOUr plantation?

YOU exist in a fantasy world driven by power hungry elites like YOUrself who think that it is YOUr calling in life to remold society into world-wide Socialism with YOU miscreants being in charge of the rest of us worthless scum. YOU and YOUr miserable type see unlimited power for YOURselves at the rest of our expense. YOU, thanks to this great Capitalist country that has provided the financial means for YOU to achieve a high level of education and material lifestyle, are selfish. YOU are spoiled rotten. Of course, you believe that in order to advance YOUr cause, the United States of America has to be destroyed. The end justifies the means, and YOU will use any means necessary to achieve that goal, provided that whatever misery YOU determine needs to be dumped upon us mere mortals, will have minimum effect on YOU and your comrades. I believe it goes like this: YOU use the academic system to indoctrinate, and then YOU use the legal system to use the power of coercive legal terrorism to force the agenda. YOU and your ilk are not anti-war, YOU are anti free market Capitalism, and ultimately anti-America Marxists. In your close circle of libtards, you all take great pleasure in condemning a country that has done more to alleviate human suffering throughout the world, compared to YOUr idealogical bretheren; the Communist Soviet Union, Communist China, Communist Cuba, and while we are at it, let’s throw in Communist Venezuela for good measure.

Of course, in YOUr exalted sense of self worth, YOU more than likely know no one in the military. You despise the military. You look down upon the military as being second class citizens. The plus side of that is that no one in the military has to know a piece of shit like YOU. These fine men and women are all volunteers and mostly from the middle class by the way, despite what John Kerry claims. These fine Americans that are serving this country both here and abroad don’t have to associate with YOU or your minions. I am glad for that, because I wouldn’t want them to have to hold their noses in your presence in order not to be overcome with YOUr sanctimonious societal stench. Of course, most of them didn’t have the advantage of trust funds and wealth, or an upper middle class lifestyle to spoil them. Most of them come from the unwashed masses of the average middle class and working class. They are not from the poor, but from Average America and not from the Elites that YOU either are, or hang around with as a wannabe. They actually had to struggle on more than one occasion, and not just when they were living in some student ghetto while they were in college. The difference is, this: Those that were in the student ghettos knew that Daddy and his checkbook or American Express card were just a phone call away when things got a little too hard, like when they had to hire a lawyer for a DUI or drug offense, or got some girl pregnant. The average person didn’t have that luxury. They had to be ultimately responsible for themselves.

After the gig we were standing outside talking to a very nice lady, who’s husband is serving in Iraq. Back here in the States, he is a DC cop, but he was called up to active duty and is now serving over in "The Sandbox" as it is called. From talking to this lady, it was clear that she was not the most educated person in the world. She was also from down south…Heaven forbid. I guess that would make her doubly worthless in YOUr mind, right? Here she is with a couple of kids and a husband overseas in a combat zone. She’s trying to get by financially by the skin of her teeth. Yet she is graciously volunteering much of her time every week to provide some comfort to the fine men and women serving in the military. She has a heart. I have a challenge for YOU. I would like for YOU to stand in front of that lady, and tell her to her face that you can not support her husband’s efforts overseas. I know YOU won’t. Why? YOU won’t, because YOU are a coward.

Go back to making YOUR statements. I’m sure they help alleviate your Liberal Guilt and make YOU feel so Goddam important at the same time. Well I’ve got news for YOU. YOU are not important. Those fine men and women serving in the military are important. They are much more important than YOU. YOU are a nothing. Who knows, maybe there will be another anti-war protest, I mean group therapy session, that you can go participate in. Don’t forget to bring YOUr camera. I’m sure we are all looking forward to seeing the Che posters and the pictures of the literature being hawked by all the different Communist and Socialist organizations that fund the movement. What’s the matter? YOU are surprised that someone would actually figure out the real agenda of YOU and YOUr ilk? Well, it’s about time, and this "Old Sarge" is going to run his mouth until YOU and YOUr Marxist comrades become the social pariahs that YOU all so deservedly become. Now go back to YOUr safe little world where YOU belong, and let the adults keep YOU and YOUr spoiled adult children friends safe for another day, while you spit in their face. Have a nice day.

I would like to add something here for that singer friend of mine: I know my words directed at your friend were harsh. They were meant to be. They were not at all directed toward you. Unlike that other person, you are an adult. It's obvious that the person that emailed you can only see their self-importance. You realize that there are times when you put politics aside and do what is right, despite personal beliefs. Don't ever change. The world is a better place, because of people like you.

Why I'm Voting Republican

There is a video on Youtube called "Why I'm voting Republican." It is a satire hit piece that basically shows how elitist Liberals label Conservatives as being uneducated warmonging racist hayseeds who want to destroy the environment and allow evil big corporations to make profits. Why don't I act suprised? In the video "Arnold Jones" says he's voting Republican because "all other countries are inferior to us." His wife, "Trudy Jones" adds, "and we should start as many wars as we need to keep it that way." There is a soldier in Iraq who says that he's voting Republican so that he can stay in Iraq. A young boy points a gun at the camera and says, "So I can go to Iran." Gee, I can feel the drool running out of both sides of my mouth. I guess that means the the floor in my house is level. Where is my banjo?

Townhall.com columnist Ben Shapiro penned a response piece titled "Why I'm voting Democrat. Here are some excerpts from that piece along with some additional reasons from others that added comments. I've added a few of my own at the end. This about sums it up. Thanks Ben!

"I am voting Democrat because:

The best strategy in war is defeat

I believe that if I don't have enough money, the solution is for the government to take more of my money. Who needs money when gas is $5 per gallon?

our enemies on the battlefield deserve comfy hotel rooms, Pay-Per-View, prostitutes and all the benefits of American citizenship

I believe we need other countries' permission for me to turn down my thermostat

I care about the real victims of crime -- criminals

because the real cure for racism includes preferential policies based on race

because everyone deserves crappy healthcare

because I believe in minority rights (except in Muslim countries), free speech (with regard to pornography but not conservative talk radio), environmentalism (unless we're talking about Al Gore's house) and diplomacy (but never backed by the threat of military force)

because I believe that America's founders were rich, white [racist], greedy xenophobes, and that America's founding principles are hogwash requiring periodic editing from an unelected group of liberal judges."

Here are some additional ones that were posted in the comment section:

"I'm voting Democrat:

because despite 10 years of lower temperatures amid increasing CO2 levels, I've suddenly realized that humans are warming Gaia Mother Earth Goddess. Also, because I believe the only way to prevent the catastrophe predicted by highly reliable and unbiased computer models is to create a guaranteed economic and social catastrophe by cutting our CO2 emissions by 70%, thereby destroying our modern industrial economy and our civilization

because I believe the government should be able to take my property and give it to some one else that promises to pay more taxes than I do

because we should lock up all of our oil and never drill for any over here because it will ruin the environment and cause even more global warming. Besides we can always get more from our enemies

because we don't pay enough in taxes. Everyone should give everything they earn to the government so they can redistribute it equitably to everyone

because we need more illegal aliens in this country to help support Social Security (OK, the Republicans are just as guilty on this one. Credit where credit is due)

because I prefer to have everything handed to me, rather than actually working for it

because I want to see the United States tethered to the Oil Cartels of the Middle East

because no one should be allowed to make a profit

because I hate rich people, well, rich people that aren't democrats. Well, for that matter, I hate the poor that aren't democrats too

because I am a convicted felon, an illegal alien, or because I am dead... and I vote

because I want to see a mushroom cloud over an American city. We deserve it

because I want to pay $10 for a gallon of gas and $300 a month for electricity

because the only hate speech I approve of is against white people [espcially white males]

because I think any person should be able to walk or swim into America and be allowed to stay and get Welfare

because I want to see this country spend itself into oblivion (Bush is just as guilty on this one)

because I want to see China as the next superpower

because I want young Americans to be brainwashed instead of learning dumb stuff like math and English

because I am a proud and dedicated Communist in the Democrat party and I hate America

because of their emotional arguments that have no basis in truth (or a kernel of truth attached to a bunch of lies. I think it's called Communist propaganda)

because it surely must be nice to be able to give every deadbeat dad, every lazy bum and ho too lazy to work, and the dictators of 3rd world countries other people's money. I want to feel that glow associated with the redistribution of wealth Obama is promising us. Oh, and of course, I don't plan on turning down MY thermostat or stop driving - that is for the idiot taxpayers who make it all happen

because I want to be friends with everybody in the world, especially those fanatical Islamic nutters who follow Bin Laden

because I like the Democratic idea of withdrawing troops from Iraq immediately so that we can invade Pakistan (or station them in Okinawa as John Murtha wants)

because I wish I didn't have so much money to spend on drugs [I'm hoping] voting Democrat will severely diminish my income

because I can't stand McCain [because] he's a patriot. I prefer a leader who is condescending to the hoards of 'gun totin' hillbillies who avidly cling to their religion

because I like the idea of being led by a student of Rev. Wright. His knowledge of racial harmony knows no bounds

because I think he would look highly fashionable in a duck outfit, because he walks like one and he looks like one (how about quacks like one too)

because I believe that the institution of marriage should be expanded to include not just people of the same sex, but multiple partners and animals as well

because I believe that we should cut back on our CO2 emissions by going back to 19th Century living styles to save our planet (that is, YOU are going back to 19th Century living styles, not me)

mainly because I'm stupid (I like that one)"

Here are a few of my own.

I'm voting Democratic because:

I'm lazy and I want the government to take care of me. I want to spend my life playing and having a good time. I don't want to have to take any responsibility for myself. I am such a victim. I'm being opressed by "The Man." Life is so hard. Why can't we be like Europe? They can smoke pot in the coffee houses in Amsterdam

I have an advanced degree paid for by Daddy, andI live a very comfortable upper middle class lifestyle in a big home with every creature comfort known to mankind. Consequently, I feel guilty about it. I won't have to change anything, but since I believe in the right things, it alleviates my feelings of guilt. Of course, I can always drive a Prius and shop at Whole Foods too to show that I care...not that it will reduce my electric bill due to the energy used heating my indoor pool

I'm a good world citizen. I want an illegal alien to mow my lawn, another one to be my kid's nanny, another one to do my laundry and clean my McMansion, while I go shopping for argula at Whole Foods in my hybrid, and then fly to a global warming conference in my private jet

Because of my income level (which I feel guilty about....well, not really), I'll be able to invest in all the new "green" investment opportunites coming down the pike bankrolled by federal grants due to higher taxes. The fact that these funds will have minimum investments of $10,000, $20,000, $50,000 or up to $1million makes them even more attractive. The little people can't afford them. That way I can use the dividends from these investments to offset the tax increases I will have to deal with. This will put more of a tax burden on the average working person and small businesses. But come on, those people are just stupid idiots anyway. They don't deserve to have anything

Because I am an elitist snob who believes that I am entitled to control you for your own good. If I get wealthy in the process from the confiscation of your assests in order to fund my programs, so be it. I'm entitled to what you earn, because I'm better, smarter, more educated, and believe in the right things. If I get wealthy from my green investments funded with grants paid for with your, not my tax dollars, so be it too. I promise that I will throw a few crumbs to the poor, which you will be too once I'm done with you. Most of yours will now be mine. I own you. Welcome to my plantation.

Amtrak Funding

I just read an article that says that the House just passed a veto proof Amtrak subsidy bill, and that the Senate version is also veto proof. The White House says it will veto it anyway, because it doesn't hold Amtrak accountable for costs. Ok, fair enough. Amtrak should do everything in its power to minimize costs and be as efficient as possible, but let's look at the big picture here. We need to expand passenger rail service in this country. Gasoline is over $4 per gallon, and air travel is going to get very expensive due to fuel costs. It's time to bring back the trains. The problem is, Amtrak is expensive, and that's because I personally don't think that the subsidies are sufficient. If they were, Amtrak would be an affordable alternative to air travel. It's not. I would like to see Amtrak increase service, and would also like to see the states encourage and develop their own inter city and inter urban rail systems to feed into the Amtrak network.

I'm not sure how many passengers can fit in a typical rail car, but if you have 10 or 12 car trains, you can move a lot of people. With electric engines, that means a lot of people being moved without the accompanying exaust from the same amount of people driving their own cars. One of the things Amtrak needs to do, however is to make long distance travel affordable. Right now you can ride a coach seat for the duration of a cross country trip, or you can get a roomette that converts into a first class priced bedroom. Bring back the old fashioned sleeper car where the berths pull down and the seats become beds with privacy curtains for a reasonable additional cost above the price of a coach seat. The shower can be down the hall.

In addition, it's also time for the cities and the suburbs to get away from expanding bus oriented public transportation unless there is no other reasonable alternative, and bring back the street cars and inter urbans of days yore. All urban and suburban public transportation services in our major metropolitan areas need to run 24/7 too.

I can hear some of my conservative friends saying now: "Chip, you can't be serious. As a conservative you are supporting the expansion of publicly funded public transportation systems?" Yes I am. It just makes too much sense. Gasoline is getting to the point where transportation costs are affecting the economy. When costs become too expensive, businesses suffer from loss of business, people lose jobs, and people end up on unemployment, which costs the rest of us money. Worse yet, the working poor, who make low wages because they lack skills and education, find that it is not worth it to work. Transportation costs are too much of an overhead. Therefore, they stay home and collect welfare. It's cheaper. What we don't need is a society where we have more people on welfare. There are too many collecting welfare now.

No public transportation system, short distance or long distance, can be affordable and convenient without massive public funding. It's a no brainer. Here in the DC area we have a halfway decent system called Metro. It's clean, it's relatively safe, and it's confortable most of the time. It has it's problems though. It's not all that cheap, and it's not all that convenient, unless you are living in the city. Expansion of service is slow due to not enough funding for expansion. This needs to be addressed. Build the lines and then encourage economic development along the lines, rather than doing it the other way around with busses.

There was a time when you had inter urban rail systems and trolley cars in the cities and close lying suburbs. Many cities are bringing them back, and the economic growth in those cities is tremendous. Expansion of bus service does not bring the same level of economic development as expansion of rail based public transportation. San Diego and Portland, Oregon proved this. Why? Because, rail travel is fun, and bus travel, for the most part, isn't. While I have nothing against busses and believe that they serve a very useful purpose, the middle class people that live in the suburbs and commute into the cities for work, would love not having to drive if they go back into the city at night for entertainment. They like trains and trolleys. They are fun. Riding a bus with 75 people, many of whom are standing for an hour on your way to work is no fun. With a trolley or light rail, you can add additional cars as needed to alleviate crowding.

Now comes the $50,000 question. How do you fund this? The federal gasoline tax is 18.4 cents per gallon. The average state gasoline tax is 28.6 cents per gallon, and in some areas, there are also county and municipal taxes. With fuel hitting over $4 per gallon, it would be stupid to increase fuel taxes. Most of the interstate highway system in this country is free, with only a small portion being toll roads. increase the amount of the system that is toll operated. That will allow less tax money that is used for expansion and maintenance of the highway system to be used. That money that used to be used for highways should be put into a lock box and used only for funding public transportion systems. You give generous tax breaks to offset the cost of tolls to trucking companies, bus companies, and individuals who need vehicles as part of their line of work. In addition, the actual activity of paying a toll makes people aware of the cost of transportation, rather than just slapping a higher amount on the gas tax and then have them temporarily grumble as they drive out of the gas station and get onto the open road.

Finally, in the high density urban areas, having major league traffic jams at toll booths will encourage people to get out of their cars and take the trolley or train. If they are going to be that stubborn and insist on driving, let them stew in their juices while the rest of us go zipping by in a nice air conditioned light rail, trolley, or train at 70 MPH. We are not taking away their right to drive. If they want to, that's fine. They can deal with the traffic and pay the toll. It's called freedom of choice.

I applaud Congress and the Senate for finally doing something right this term. Up until now they have been batting 1000 in screw ups. Let's use our brains to develop a viable transportation infrastructure for the future to get us off of oil that is sold to our wonderful oil companies (yea I know, you liberals hate them, but I love them) at extortion prices that fund tin pot dictators and terrorists. It will also take the wind out of the financial sail of power hungry billionaire Socialist commodities speculators and hedge fund managers. These anti-American messianic Monopolistic Capitalist Marxists, as opposed to Free Market Capitalists, are hedging against the dollar and artificially driving the price of oil sky high for their benefit and our detriment. These high dollar folks are trying to collapse the US economy for their financial benefit and to panic the American people into electing a Socialist government this coming November.

Most importantly too, this will relieve some of the pressure on our oil companies who are running their refineries at full tilt capacity. It will give them some wiggle room as far as meeting our fuel needs, which will decrease their operating costs and increase their profits. Yea I know that's a bad word...oil company profits. If you do some research, you will find that billions of dollars of oil company profits are being poured back into finding new sources of oil and the development of alternative energy sources. Last year Chevron alone spent over $40 billion in research and development of alternative energy sources...much more than the federal government did.

Yes, bringing back the trains makes too much sense to this conserative.

It's Amazing

I've decided to keep most of the blog posts short so that I can post more often. With that in mind, here goes.....

I find it hard to belive what is going on energywise in this country, unless it's being done deliberately. I think it is. It's a collusion between the Democrats and their masters...George Soros, hedge fund managers, billionaire socialists, communist environmental groups, and every other anti-American group on the planet. The idea is the get $10 a gallon gasoline before the November election, so that we will end up with a Marxist in the White House. The plan is to "transition" us to the UN's gameplan for a One World Government. America must be destroyed in order for this to take place. The Democrats are in on it, because they are now under the control of a cabal of Marxist elites. Their elite socialist minions have promised them a place at the table when they rule the world. It's right out of Karl Marx's playbook. It's called the "proletariatizing" of the middle class. This is why they have prevented us from becoming energy independent. They claim that we need to be, but then they do everything in their power to prevent it. Then they work to force us to subsidizing their "pet" industries on the greenie side of the coin. These groups then funnel lots of money back to them so that they will continue to keep us from becoming energy independent.

The problem is, the Republicans don't have the balls to stand up to them...starting with George Bush. I firmly believe that you wouldn't have all this Bush hatred from the Left if George Bush had the spine to stand up to his opponents and systematically take them down. The spoiled adult children of the left, the cowardly Marxists that they are, would go sulk in their respective corners for a little "time out."

Also, because the Republicans lost their balls and became too comfortable, we have very little choices for president this November. Here are our choices: We have an elitest Marxist named Obama, a power hungry Marxist named Clinton, and a liberal semi-socialist named McCain, who in my opinion is only marginally acceptable. With this in mind, however, I'm going to vote for McCain, because I think that he can cause the least amount of damage. He's not perfect, but at least he's not a Marxist.

Let's look at where things are heading. You have this bullshit about global warming coupled with an ethanol movement that has reduced the world's food supply and caused us to burn more fuel, because of it's inefficiency. This compounds the problem as it spirals out of control. The Democrats know this, and they are keeping it going, because all they care about is getting one of their beloved Communists in the White House this November and funneling more grants and favors to the "green" industries that then funnel money back to the Democrats. It's time for the American people to wake up. It's also time for the Republican party to stop caving in, grow some balls, and call them on it...big time! President Bush, I'm not hearing you......

Where Are The Good Candidates?

I’ve been following the primary season very closely, and to be honest, I’m disgusted. What has happened in this country when neither political party can field a candidate that would make a good president? There is a lot at stake in this election, and the American people better wake up fast. If not, this representative republic that has been the greatest nation in the world is going to fall by the wayside.

There are arguments on both sides of the equation about whether or not any candidate is ideologically pure enough to secure the vote of the hard liners of either political party. That’s a fair argument. For me, I’m not so ideologically pure. I tend to look at all the candidates and then vote for what I consider to be the best compromise. So far, however, I can’t seem to find any candidate that would be an acceptable compromise for me.

Let’s start on the left: Hillary Clinton is the Junior Senator from New York. She has no executive experience. She is an arrogant Marxist Elite. That right there eliminates her from any consideration on my part. If the Democrats were so determined to run a woman for president, why not run one of the three eligible sitting Democrat female governors; Kathleen Sebelius, Christine Gregorie, or Janet Napolitano? While I’m not crazy about their politics, they do have executive experience, because they are the chief executives of their respective states. Now let’s look at Barack Obama. Again, no executive experience. He’s the Junior Senator from Illinois coming out of the Chicago political machine. He’s dynamic, charismatic, and a breath of fresh air. So what? He’s also more liberal than Hillary, and his ideas on foreign policy are a joke that will get us all killed. The fact that he’s black shows that yes we have made tremendous advances in Civil Rights. The only one of the Democrats that had the right experience was Governor Bill Richardson. He dropped out of the race after New Hampshire.

Now let’s go to the right: What do the Republicans have? Nobody! You’ve got Mike Huckabee, the former Governor of Arkansas. He’s a Baptist Minister and another Compassionate Conservative kook. Loser. Next you have Mitt Romney, former Governor of Massachusetts, and a self-made businessman. Those are pluses. He’s a Mormon, and that is going to hurt him if he secures the party’s nomination. Evangelicals won’t vote for a Mormon. It’s sad that there is still religious prejudice here in this country. Romney, in my opinion is the best-qualified candidate, but there is still something about him that I don’t like. I can’t put my finger on it, but I’ve got reservations. Rudy Gulliani is the former Mayor of New York City. That is an executive position. His leadership after the attacks on 9/11 was stellar. However, he’s got a lot of personal baggage, and that’s going to hurt him. He’s also almost as liberal as Hillary on a lot of social issues. John McCain is a senior statesman, but again, no executive experience. He’s a Senator. Also, his stand on amnesty for illegal aliens and his objection to using harsh interrogation techniques against the enemy combatants that are trying to turn this country, and ultimately our world, into an Islamic Caliphate don’t sit well with me. Then there is Fred Thompson, the only candidate with any spine, and the only true conservative in the bunch. I don’t think he’s got a chance. He is my first choice, however. Then there is Ron Paul. Need I say more?

Ok, what do we have? We have weak candidates that are all victims of Political Correctness. We have an electorate that is complacent and apathetic. We complain about urban crime. We moan about illegal aliens. We refuse to hold accountable members of Congress who denigrate our fine men and women that are serving overseas. We do nothing. We have become a nation of lazy, overeducated spoiled brats. We have ignored the slow march toward Socialism that began in the 1920s, and is about to manifest itself with the 2008 election. All the pieces are in place for the deconstruction of the United States of America, leading us to a one world government under the UN. I am not pleased.

We might be at the point where we won’t be able to save us from our own self-destruction. Will we doom ourselves to the ash heap of history as another civilization that became too soft, too arrogant, and too comfortable to hold ourselves together as a nation? We’ll find out after the November election.

Our Health Care "Crisis" And How To Fix It

There are many people in this country that think that our health care system is in a crisis. It’s not, but it could be in the not so distant future. It’s not because there are supposedly 40 million Americans who don’t have health insurance. I don’t believe that for a minute when you take into account the upwards of 20 million illegal aliens that use our emergency rooms for primary care, and then not pay their bills. Yes, at that point, we get stuck with the bills as the honest law abiding taxpayer. There are also studies that show that most of those supposedly 40 million are only uninsured for a brief period of time. That’s the reason why health insurance needs to be portable. Let the employer pay the employee the money that they spend on a person’s health care package and let the individual shop around for the best deal they can. Let the individual own the policy rather than the company. In this article I’m going to offer two proposals. The first one is how to fix the health care industry using market-based solutions. The second one is a sarcastic take on a national health care plan that would keep rich liberals who want to cut the line by paying cash, from creating and using a bureaucratic two tier health care system to their advantage. Why should they get access to quality care, when they want to force the masses into sub-standard Hillary Care socialized medicine?

Before we get there, however, let’s keep in mind that the health care problems in this country can not be fixed overnight. It’s going to take time, because it has taken a lot of time to get where it is now. If you take a good hard look at the system, it’s expensive, but it’s not broken. We have the best health care system in the world, bar none. I know liberals will argue that point claiming that Europe has better health care, just because it’s free. Liberals, after all, don’t want to have to be responsible for anything. They just want every thing provided to them, while they play and have a good time pursuing whatever pleasure strikes them at the time. For this reason, what they want is a system of socialized medicine. That way they won’t have to be responsible for their own health care. That’s only part of the equation. When you get past the usual liberal smoke and mirrors, the real reason that they want socialized medicine is so that it can be used as a tool to "cull the herd" so to speak. It’s one more means that they can use to force people into certain behaviors and thought processes, or be eliminated from this earth. They can use socialized medicine as a tool to get rid of undesirables who disagree with the Left Establishment’s group think mentality. Communism is Communism even when it’s called Progressivism. When you look at the end result of socialized medicine, you get rationed health care, which means that people are denied life saving procedures, and ultimately, government enforced Euthanasia for the elderly and those considered to be mentally ill. One of the definitions of mentally ill will be anyone who disagrees with the Left’s ideology or positions, and/or speaks out against them.

Now here’s the first solution. As I said, make health insurance portable. You own it, not your employer. It’s yours and you take it with you when you change jobs. You also deregulate the insurance industry so that individuals say in Kansas, can shop around and purchase health insurance in Wyoming if they can find a policy with the coverage they want cheaper there. Force the insurance companies to compete for your business, and the price of insurance will drop. Also, let people purchase the coverage that they need. There is no need for men to have to pay for coverage for mammograms and women to pay for coverage for prostate exams. They don’t need them.

At the same time, we need to rein in the trial lawyers that bring frivolous malpractice lawsuits causing many doctors to get out of the business, and ultimately costing the consumer much more than necessary. There need to be caps on the amount of damages awarded to individuals for so called, "pain and suffering," with most of the award ultimately going to the attorney after legal expenses anyway. Things used to be different. I remember when I was a kid, the doctor would come to the house, and my dad would write the doctor a check for his services. If we went to the office, it was the same thing, but less money. I believe a house call was $15 and an office visit was $10. All routine lab work was done at the doctor’s office, not sent out to a lab, unless it was some sort of specialized test. Plus, there was no need to perform gazillion tests in order to cover the doctor’s ass from a frivolous lawsuit brought by a lawyer like John Edwards. Times have really changed haven’t they? If you really look at it, the price of health care in this country didn’t get all that expensive until people started having health insurance. The problem is not the supposed 40 million people without health insurance, it’s the 260 million that HAVE health insurance. Hey, someone else is now paying for it, who cares about the cost…

Now let’s look at the other solution. If Hillary becomes president, we are in for a world of hurt as far as health care is concerned. What will happen will be a two tiered system like they have in Britain and Canada. You will have the typical Left Wing Marxists who will "insist" on a fair health care system for all, except for them of course. A perfect example is Barbara Castle, a Member Of Parliament in Great Britain, who said, "No one should be able to acquire better health care with a checkbook," yet when her son needed surgery, she admitted him to an expensive PRIVATE hospital under an assumed name. She wasn’t about to use the public health care system that she so vehemently supported for "everyone else." Like most liberals, she is just too freekin’ important.

Here’s my plan for Socialist medicine. We have to make sure that the system is fair and equitable for the "common good." We start by putting the entire health care system under the control of the federal government. No private sector health care will be allowed period. This is to make sure that rich liberals will have to stand in line for their rationed health care just like everyone else. If our politicians and rich liberals have to stand in line, you better believe that the lines will get shorter and shorter all the time.

In order to ensure that there is an adequate supply of health care professionals, you start by nationalizing the medical school system. If you are good enough to get into medical school, the government will provide the training. That way you can accept a reasonable salary upon graduation, that will increase with longevity. All health care workers will be part of the MPH force and will hold the ranks of officers in the Merchant Marines, just like MPH doctors and nurses currently do. A doctor holding the rank of O-3 has a base salary of about $40,000 per year, and that increases with longevity and with promotions. They would also receive variable housing allowances with the amount determined by the cost of housing in their area. In addition, they will also be exempt from any and all malpractice lawsuits. I know the insurance industry and the trial lawyers won’t be happy with this arrangement, but come on now folks, we all have to make sacrifices for the "common good," as Comrade Hillary says.

Now comes the fun part. Liberals are going to hate this, but like I said, it’s for the common good. Get with the program. You are no more important than the rest of us, despite what you think. Free health care is going to be expensive. It’s going to require tax increases in order to pay for it. Therefore, we need to make sure that people lead a healthy lifestyle in order to minimize their use of the system. Healthy people require less medical care than sick people. Many chronic conditions are simply a result of personal lifestyles. Those lifestyles will have to change. Let’s start with substance abuse problems. The health problems of those addicted to hard drugs are well documented, and even benign drugs like marijuana contribute to lung problems over time. Therefore, in order to make sure that people don’t use drugs, every person in this country will be subject to random drug testing. If you test positive the first time, you will be forced into rehab. If you fail a second time, you go to prison, no exceptions. It’s for the common good and it will save the taxpayers money.

The problems associated with alcohol ranging from domestic violence to drunk driving are also well documented. Therefore, every alcohol purchase will need to be accompanied by a Social Security number whether in a bar, restaurant, or liquor store, so that the government can track your alcohol purchases. Once you exceed a certain amount of booze in the course of a month, the government can step in and evaluate you for alcoholism. If you are determined to have a drinking problem, you will be involuntarily enrolled in an inpatient rehab program and be required to abstain from alcohol for a minimum of one year upon leaving the facility. If you relapse, determined by random testing for alcohol in your system, you will be thrown in prison. Yes I know this will force a lot of bars and restaurants out of business, but don’t you think that this will be for the common good? We will need to do the same with cigarette purchases. Every tobacco purchase will need to be accompanied by a Social Security number, so that the government can track tobacco purchases, and deny health coverage for tobacco related diseases in smokers. I'm sure the government will approve of this measure, since their goal is to eliminate smoking, by their own admission. Look at all the smoking bans that are in place in bars and restaurants. The question is, can the government live without the tax revenue that it gets from the sale of tobacco products? I think not.

How about heart problems associated with diet? Let’s do the same thing with red meat. You will only be allowed a certain amount of red meat each month, and your meat purchases will also have to be accompanied by a Social Security number. Once you reach your government-determined amount, you will not be able to make the purchase. The store’s computer, which will be tied into a huge government database like the store’s computers in liquor stores, bars, restaurants and 7-11s, will deny you the "privilege" of purchasing those burgers. If you are having an outdoor barbecue and plan on purchasing steaks or ribs for your guests, you will have to apply for a permit and submit everyone on the guest list’s Social Security number. A Social Security number, with extra attention devoted to fast food establishments will also accompany all purchases at all eating establishments. Isn’t this fun? We are going to make you healthy for your own, and the "common good." What’s the matter? You don’t like this invasion of privacy? Come on Liberals, how else do you think that we can make things fair for everyone and keep costs down? Aren’t you willing to do your fair share? Ah, that’s right. There is no provision for you phonies to bypass the system. Too freekin’ bad.

Next how do we get people to exercise? Let’s see, you make it mandatory. Let employers get a tax deduction for providing health clubs on their premises, or for small businesses, they get a tax break for providing health club memberships—same with the self-employed. Better yet, let’s nationalize the health club industry and make attendance at a gym or some other exercise program for certain number of hours per week, mandatory. Hey, if we are going to nationalize the health care industry, let’s go all the way and nationalize the health club industry too. If you fail to work out a certain number of hours per week without a doctor’s consent, you can do you exercise time in the yard at the "Big House."

There you have it. My proposals to fix the health care problems in this country. Which do you prefer? With the second proposal, I have created the worst case scenario for fixing our health care system with the ultimate in socialized medicine. If you think about it, it’s the only way that socialized medicine would really work. For me, I’m more interested in using the free market to bring down the cost of health care, rather than create the Orwellian nightmare that Hillary Care would be, as the first step in Totalitarian control over our lives. I have a father that is 90 years old with Alzheimer’s. I don’t think that he should be euthanized, which would be a distinct possibility under a national health care system managed by a Far Left Wing Totalitarian government. This is the type of government that the Left wants to force onto the American people for their, and their alone, benefit. I don’t want a system that allows rich liberals to adopt the old, "do as I say, not as I do" mantra, while they continue to deconstruct systematically this country of ours…the greatest republic in the history of the world. My dad is a World War II veteran who fought for the freedoms that we take for granted today. He deserves something much better than the Communism of Hillary Care.
